High Performance Grant Program Will Deliver Improved Energy Performance in
Buildings, Driving Significant Economic and Environmental Benefits for the
Commonwealth
GOFFSTOWN, N.H.--(Business Wire)--
WoodPellets.com, formerly PelletSales.com, the nation's leading independent
distributor and direct-to-consumer provider of wood pellet heating fuels,
announced today its intent to file for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts High
Performance Buildings Grant Program. The grant program seeks proposals for
cost-effective energy solutions, including those using biomass fuels, which will
dramatically improve building energy performance. Under the terms of its
submission, WoodPellets.com will seek the opportunity to convert homes and
businesses in the Commonwealth to wood pellet heating systems, a cost-effective,
carbon-neutral heating alternative.

"We`re extremely pleased to see the Commonwealth of Massachusetts take such an
important step towards improving energy efficiency across the state. Governor
Patrick`s administration, including Secretary of Energy and the Environment Ian
Bowles and DOER Commissioner Phil Giudice, have been aggressive about finding
practical ways to reduce the Commonwealth's carbon emissions as quickly as
possible, " said Jon Strimling, president and CEO of WoodPellets.com. "The
inclusion of biomass thermal in this grant program is a major step. Countries
like Austria, Germany and Sweden have already reduced their carbon emissions
substantially through biomass heating, and have actually created more jobs in
biomass than in solar or wind. Through this grant program, Massachusetts opens
the door to similar economic and environmental benefits, and sets a precedent
for other states to follow."

WoodPellets.com revolutionized the delivery of wood pellets for home heating,
ensuring this affordable, carbon-neutral alternative is available to the masses.
As a result, homeowners and businesses can reduce home heating bills by 15-50%
vs. oil or propane heating. (See Savings Calculator). Additionally, because
biomass, such as wood pellets, is carbon neutral, using this heating source also
helps to mitigate climate change.

If accepted into the Massachusetts High Performance Buildings Grant Program,
WoodPellets.com will focus its efforts on broadening the adoption of
high-efficiency, low emissions biomass heating systems featuring bulk-fed fuel
transfer systems. A bulk-fed heating system allows the wood pellets to flow
through a hose from a truck to the site, and then they are automatically fed to
the heating system. As a result of this bulk transfer feature, the delivery of
wood pellets is as easy and seamless as the delivery of propane or oil.

WoodPellets.com is currently expanding its list of homeowners and businesses in
the Commonwealth interested in converting to wood pellet heating systems. The
company hopes to use grant funding to help offset the costs of converting to
wood pellet heating for selected participants. Interested volunteers can
register here or contact WoodPellets.com at 1-800-PELLETS (735-5387).

"WoodPellets.com is eager to bring our deep expertise in biomass and commitment
to education on green initiatives to the citizens of Massachusetts," said
Strimling.
