Media Advisory: Susan Chambers Dance Company Announces $25,000 Grant From AT&T

SUGAR HILL, Ga., July 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Susan Chambers Dance
Company (SCDC) located in Sugar Hill, GA announced today a $25,000 grant from
The AT&T Foundation, the corporate philanthropy organization of AT&T*.  The
Susan Chambers Dance Company won the prestigious award over hundreds of
applications from throughout the Nation.

To celebrate this honored event, there will be a grant presentation on
Wednesday, July 15th at 10:30 AM at the Susan Chambers School of Theatre Dance
located at 225 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Suite 105, Sugar Hill, GA 30518;
770-614-3381.   Members of the news media, AT&T officials, performers, and the
Board of Directors of SCDC are invited to attend.

"I want to thank AT&T for believing in SCDC and its mission statement to help
bring the performing arts to our community and I am honored for the Susan
Chambers Dance Company to be the first recipient of AT&T's Fine Arts Grant. 
This grant allows us to provide many more underprivileged children the
opportunity to experience the joy and excitement of live performance at the
Gwinnett Performing Arts Center in February and also allows us to expand our
productions to replace needed upgrades to choreography, costuming and sets for
the concert series of SCDC," said Susan Chambers, Artistic Director of the
Susan Chambers Dance Company.  

This $25,000 grant will be utilized by the Susan Chambers Dance Company to
provide opportunities for underserved children and children from Title 1
schools to attend live dance/theatrical performances.  The grant will also
support performances at community events through the local area.    

"The naming of the Susan Chambers Dance Company as a recipient of the AT&T 
Foundation's  25th anniversary contribution continues to underscore our
commitment to support those organizations that enrich the arts and cultural

The Susan Chambers Dance Company is a 501 (c) (3) organization founded in
1988.  Currently, over 50 dancers, ages 7-18 perform with the company.  The
Susan Chambers Dance Company is a theatrical outlet for pre-professional
dancers dedicated to providing young dancers with a diverse experience in the
performing arts, from classical ballet to tap, jazz, hip hop and musical
theatre.  The dancers also attend training in acting and voice.
