Western Canadian Coal Issues Update on C$40 Million Financing

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(Business Wire)--Western Canadian Coal Corp (TSX: WTN and WTN.DB and AIM: WTN)
("Western" or "Company") is pleased to announce by way of update to
its news release on November 22, 2007, that the Company is in the
process of closing the C$40 million private placement of Convertible
Debentures ("Debentures").
A further announcement on completion of the Debentures will be
released by the Company on or before December 3, 2007.

quality metallurgical coal from two mines located in the northeast of
