UNICEF Ambassador Selena Gomez Named Spokesperson for Trick-or-Treat for
UNICEF Campaign

NEW YORK, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- UNICEF Ambassador Selena Gomez
returns for a second year as spokesperson for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, one
of the longest running youth volunteer movements in America.

Now in its 59th year, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF will launch its time-honored
Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign this fall. As an education and fundraising
initiative, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF provides U.S. children, along with their
parents and teachers, the opportunity to learn about their peers worldwide who
are truly in need and to raise money on their behalf to help reduce the number
of daily preventable deaths of children, from 25,000 to zero.

"Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF invites children and adults alike to make Halloween
count by joining UNICEF to do whatever it takes to help save children's
lives," said Selena Gomez, UNICEF Ambassador and 2009 Trick-or-Treat for
UNICEF spokesperson. "This October, I would like to encourage everyone to make
a difference and support UNICEF's mission to reduce the number of daily
preventable deaths of children, from 25,000 to zero."

To support the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign, Selena Gomez, who is also
an accomplished recording artist, will be donating four VIP tickets to one of
her upcoming concerts with backstage meet-and-greet access to the highest
bidder through a Charity Buzz auction. The highest bidder will also receive an
autographed CD. The auction will begin October 21 and run through November 11,
2009. Proceeds will benefit the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign.

As part of a live web cast series hosted on Facebook, Selena Gomez will also
speak to fans and supporters of Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF on October 29th. The
Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF spokesperson will provide viewers fundraising tips
and teach them about the ways they can support UNICEF's lifesaving work for
children.

"Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is the original 'kids helping kids' program -- it
is the opportunity for young people to be directly involved in saving
children's lives. Over the years, young people have met this challenge by
fundraising for UNICEF in unbelievably creative ways," said Caryl Stern,
President and CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. "To date, Trick-or-Treat for
UNICEF has received over $144 million to help put an end to the unnecessary
deaths of 25,000 children who die each day of preventable causes."

While carrying the orange collection box door-to-door is one of the most
popular ways to contribute to Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, supporters can host
Halloween parties, bake sales, car washes, or text the word "TOT" to UNICEF
(864233) to donate $5 on your mobile phone.

New this year, Procter & Gamble will double the impact of donations made by
viewers of a Halloween-themed primetime television special airing on HGTV on
Sunday, October 18 and Saturday, October 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. P&G will match
all donations made via HGTV.com from October 18 through October 31, 2009, up
to $100,000.

Collection boxes are available online and at several retail locations,
including Baskin-Robbins, Hallmark Gold Crown stores and Pier 1 Imports. Boxes
can also be ordered by phone at 1-800-FOR-KIDS. Donations can be made via
credit card or check, or through over 12,000 participating Coinstar
