Imagine Communications Appoints Seasoned IPTV Executive, Doug Means and Digital Video Expert, Dr. Tibet Mimaroğlu To Management Team

Key hires position the company for MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding and Internet
Video applications 
SAN DIEGO--(Business Wire)--
Imagine Communications, a leading innovator in advanced digital video solutions,
today announced the appointment of two key executives- Doug Means as chief
operating officer and Dr. Tibet Mimaroğlu as vice president of engineering.
Imagine has raised the video quality bar in the cable industry with its
leading-edge HD encoding technology. With these new hires the company intends to
build on that strength by leveraging their expertise in video processing
solutions for IPTV and HD video on demand. 

Means comes to Imagine from Motorola where he spent 14 years as a top executive,
most recently VP/GM of their IPTV video solutions business unit. In his new
role, Means brings a wealth of industry experience to Imagine and has a
reputation for being an effective and strong leader. He is well known by
Imagine`s customers and highly respected in the US cable, satellite and IPTV
markets, as well in high growth international markets including Europe and Asia.

Dr. Mimaroğlu is a leading innovator in video processing solutions. He joins
Imagine with 29 years of solid experience in product development and engineering
management. Dr. Mimaroğlu was most recently CTO and EVP, Engineering of
Beko/Grundig Elektronik, the number two consumer electronics company in Europe
with $1.5B annual revenues in TV, set top boxes and other CE products. Dr.
Mimaroğlu led the multinational engineering team across four global locations.
