Presence in North America
Company to be based in Mexico City

DEERFIELD, Ill., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America,
Inc., today announced the incorporation of Takeda Pharmaceuticals Mexico, S.A.
de C.V. This expansion strengthens the company's North American presence,
bolstering existing operations in the United States and Canada. Takeda
Pharmaceuticals Mexico will be headquartered in Mexico City.

The Mexican pharmaceutical market is currently the 12th largest in the world
and represents more than 25 percent of the Latin American market.
Additionally, the prevalence of diabetes in Mexico is among the highest in the
world.

Takeda Mexico plans to file a new drug application with the Federal Commission
for the Protection against Sanitary Risk (COFEPRIS) in 2010. Takeda focuses on

and urological diseases, central nervous system diseases, and
gastroenterological diseases.
