Ash Grove Cement Company Names Jacqueline K. Clark Director of Communications
and Public Affairs

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Ash Grove Cement Company
today announced that Jacqueline K. Clark, APR has joined the company as
Director of Communications and Public Affairs, reporting to Vice Chairman Kent
Sunderland.  Ms. Clark will be responsible for directing Ash Grove's public
and government affairs as well as its corporate communications, political
action, community relations and crisis management programs.
    Prior to joining Ash Grove, Ms. Clark served as the client services
director for Kansas City-based Polsinelli Shalton Flanigan Suelthaus, one of
the nation's fastest-growing law firms.  She previously served as Manager of
Public Affairs at Hallmark Cards, Inc., where she designed and successfully
managed the company's 50-state legislative program.  She also held positions
of increasing responsibility in Missouri state government with the Department
of Revenue, the Missouri Lottery Commission and the Office of the State
Auditor.

    Ms. Clark has worked on a wide variety of issues on both coasts and
throughout the Midwest and is highly regarded for her work in public policy
development.  For the past several years, she has lectured as an adjunct
professor at Park University's Hauptmann School of Public Affairs.
    She earned a master's degree in public affairs with honors from Park
University's Hauptmann School of Public Affairs.  She also earned a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri.
    Clark has led various boards of directors for public relations, business,
civic, arts, education, health and human services organizations.  She will be
president of the international Mizzou Alumni Association in 2009.
    Ms. Clark is a frequent guest speaker on public relations, legislative and
government relations.  In 2006, she was president of the Greater Kansas City
Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and recently earned recognition
from PRSA's Chair & CEO for her exceptional national service developing and
leading her chapter.
