MCLEAN, Va.--(Business Wire)--
Trace Systems Inc., a McLean, VA.-based systems integrator and technical
services firm that provides comprehensive communications, networking, IT and
other C4ISR services and solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense,
Department of Homeland Security, and other U.S. Government customers today
announced that it has won a contract with the U.S. Army's 7th Theater Tactical
Signal Brigade (7th TTSB) for information assurance (IA) subject matter experts
in support of the Joint Network Operations Control Center Afghanistan (JNCC-A).
The JNCC-A is the NETOPS execution arm of the United States Forces - Afghanistan
(USFOR-A) J6 and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of
communications and computer networks throughout the Afghanistan Area of
Operations.

Through the three year contract awarded by the Army after a full-and-open
competition, Trace Systems will provide IA subject matter experts based at
Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan. Residing within the JNCC-A, Trace Systems will
support network defense throughout the Combined Joint Operational Area -
Afghanistan (CJOA-A) on a 24 by 7 basis, including the deployment and monitoring
of Host-Based Security Systems (HBSS), enterprise anti-virus management systems,
intrusion prevention systems, and other applications that identify and counter
unauthorized applications, rogue systems, and malicious content.

"We are proud to continue supporting the joint mission in Afghanistan by
augmenting the USFOR-A and 7th TTSB deployed forces with information assurance
resources that understand how to operate in the tactical environment," said Jeff
Barrows, Chief Operating Officer of Trace Systems. While in the U.S. Army,
Barrows served in the 7th Signal Brigade. He continued, "Our understanding of
the rapidly changing IT and network infrastructure on the battlefield as well as
the operational environment will provide a significant added value to our
customer as the JNCC-A and HBSS are deployed throughout the CJOA-A."

Trace Systems has been supporting communications, networking, and IT
requirements throughout Southwest Asia (SWA) since 2002. In Afghanistan today,
Trace Systems personnel are located at Bagram, Kandahar, Kabul, Sharana, and
Jalalabad, and have provided support at more than twenty Forward Operating Bases
(FOBs) throughout the CJOA-A.

"The JNCC-A had a need for highly-skilled HBSS resources at the tactical edge,
and we were able to rapidly provide information assurance subject matter experts
that have also provided this specific experience to support NETCOM and DISA, as
well as resources that have prior RCERT and JNCC-Iraq experience," said Bobbie
Robinson, Afghanistan country manager for Trace Systems. Robinson has worked for
Trace Systems supporting the U.S. military in Afghanistan for over five years,
and understands the unique challenges associated with supporting IT on the
battlefield. "We are very happy to be supporting the 7th TTSB and the JNCC-A
with this important mission," Robinson continued.
