Dr. William Brody, President of the Salk Institute for Biological Studies,
Appointed to GenVault's Board of Directors
CARLSBAD, Calif., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- GenVault Corporation (Carlsbad, CA)
today announces that William Brody, M.D., Ph.D., has joined its Board of
Directors. Dr. Brody, the Irwin Jacobs Presidential Chair of the Salk
Institute, is an acclaimed physician-scientist and university leader. Prior
to joining the Salk Institute, Dr. Brody served as president of The Johns
Hopkins University. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and
the Institute of Medicine, and is renowned for his academic achievements and
his contributions to the field of biomedical engineering. Further, Dr. Brody
co-founded three medical device companies and holds two U.S. patents in the
field of medical imaging.

Dr. Brody received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. (also in
electrical engineering) and his M.D. degrees from Stanford University.
Dr. Brody currently serves on a number of national boards, including IBM,
Stanford University, and Novartis. He is a member of the Scientific
Management Review Board of the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Brody has
also been a national figure in efforts to encourage innovation and strengthen
the U.S. economy through investments in research and education.
