Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to Induct Three Into Hall of Fame
The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs will induct three people into its Hall of Fame at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14 in Building 4-134 at Fort Indiantown Gap. The inductees are Congressman John P. Murtha Jr. of Johnstown; retired Brig. Gen. Cecil Hengeveld of Hummelstown; and the late Maj. Gen. Robert E. Harris, formerly of Harrisburg. Due to a scheduling issue, Congressman Murtha will be unable to attend. The DMVA Hall of Fame, established in 1998, recognizes unique and exemplary contributions to the department and/or to the Pennsylvania National Guard. This award not only recognizes significant achievements, but also the honor and prestige an individual has brought upon the department, the Pennsylvania National Guard and its members.
