SAN FRANCISCO--(Business Wire)--
AEG Power Solutions (www.aegps.com), a global leader in end-to-end power supply
systems and solutions, announces the arrival of its Thyro-step controller to the
glass and fiberglass market at Intersolar North America, taking place today
through Thursday in San Francisco. AEG Power Solutions` Thyro-step controller,
an advanced control device for its power controllers systems, has been a welcome
addition to the energy industry and continues to gain popularity within
industries such as glass manufacturing that reduce operating costs by increasing
energy efficiency. In its first appearance at Intersolar North America, AEG
Power Solutions will be displaying several of its energy-efficient products and
providing additional information at Booth No. 9446 at the Moscone Center West.

The Thyro-step controller is a voltage sequence control most effective when used
in energy-intensive environments, including the manufacturing of solar panel
components like polysilicon and glass. This new accessory device combines the
features of a load-sequencing control (10+1 circuits) with the traditional tasks
of a monitoring system for mains load peaks and a data logging and control
system. The Thyro-step controller enables the installation of large, digitally
controlled heating systems by balancing or reducing the usage of the connected
switching and heating elements. By lowering the installation costs to the user,
increasing the life expectancy of the elements and enhancing the energy
efficiency of the system as a whole, the Thyro-step controller helps cut
operating costs as well. In addition, it serves as an I/O module and offers a
wide range of communication capabilities.

"The Thyro-step controller has shown tremendous success through improved energy
efficiency when implemented with an existing infrastructure, and we are pleased
to expand those cost-saving possibilities into new markets," said Scott Everett,
vice president, North American Sales at AEG Power Solutions. "When applied to
the manufacturing of polysilicon used in creating solar cells, AEG Power
Solutions prove to be more than 99 percent energy efficient; our nearest
competitor provides about 95 percent efficiency. For manufacturers and
municipalities with high monthly energy bills, AEG Power Solutions provides
customers with the products and services needed to reduce power loss along with
the associated energy costs so that you`re operating at or near peak efficiency.
With energy conservation and other green practices emerging as a critical part
of day-to-day operations, AEG Power Solutions helps lead companies toward a
greener tomorrow."

The main features of the Thyro-step controller include:

* 10 potential-free relay/thyristor switch connections
* Analog output to power controller
* Supply voltage 110 V/ 230 V; 50/60 Hz
* Easy to use (switch and potentiometer)
* RS232 PC connection
* Configuration options via PC software
* Adjustable ramp functions
* Hysteresis function (automatic/manual)
* Error and alarm signal output
* Replaces three former ZME cards
* Device protection via integrated safety fuse

Intersolar North America (www.intersolar.us) is the most diverse international
business-to-business trade show in the United States for the global solar
industry. The event hosts roughly 500 exhibitors and focuses on photovoltaics,
solar thermal technology and solar architecture. Exhibitors include PV cell,
module and inverter manufacturers, components and mounting systems suppliers,
manufacturing system suppliers, service companies as well as manufacturers of
solar thermal applications including heating and cooling.
