The new educational series will benefit a range of viewers, from seasoned application developers to high availability novices. The first Webcast provides a high level overview of Service Availability principles, a perspective of where the SA Forum fits in the marketplace and provides an introduction to the SA Forum itself, giving viewers a foundation for the rest of the series. Future topics will include key points on conducting technical evaluations, the business case for adopting SA Forum specifications and case studies of successful applications based on open specifications. "With a robust catalog of specifications, the SA Forum is expanding its focus on educating application developers on how best to leverage open specifications for their work," said Asif Naseem, SA Forum President. "Enabling real-world, successful applications based on the specifications will accelerate industry acceptance and spur growth in the commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) ecosystem." "As the SA Forum matures as an organization, it is providing a valuable educational resource to help navigate high-availability and service-availability issues so developers can focus their time and effort on developing applications that can leverage SA Forum solutions," said Eric Heikkila, Director of the Embedded Hardware & Systems Practice, VDC Research Group.
