'The Next Big Idea: Creating a New Venture'
    The media are cordially invited to attend a special Yale-CURE BioHaven
event that will take a look into the future at the next generation of medical
therapeutics.
    The panel discussion -- "The Next Big Idea: Creating a New Venture" --
will be held on Wednesday, April 16 in the Anlyan Center Auditorium at 300
Cedar Street, New Haven, beginning at 5 p.m. The program will feature
presentations by leading industry observers on new trends in bioscience
business formation.
    A capacity audience is expected, but tickets have been reserved for
members of the press with valid credentials. Please contact lmalis@curenet.org

Roger Longman, managing partner of Windhover Information Inc. and a
leading expert in biopharmaceutical deal making, will serve as moderator.
    The panelists are:

    * William Burkoth, the senior manager of venture capital of Pfizer Venture
      Investments, Pfizer Inc., a board observer for five Pfizer-supported new
      ventures.

    * Richard Flavell, professor and chair of immunobiology; professor of
      molecular, cellular & developmental biology at Yale University; Howard
      Hughes Medical Institute Investigator; and a founding scientist of
      Vaxinnate.

    * Haifan Lin, professor of cell biology, director of the Yale Stem Cell
      Center in Yale School of Medicine, and internationally recognized stem
      cell researcher.

    * David Sheer, president of Sheer & Company, Inc., venture capitalist and
      expert in life sciences company formation.
