Iconic Seventies Paparazzi Exhibition Extended Closing Party Set for July 17, 7-11pm in Venice, CA LOS ANGELES, July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Legendary Independent bookstore Equator Books of Venice, California has announced the extension of Brad Elterman's http://bradelterman.com/2008/press.html seventies paparazzi gallery exhibition and a closing night reception set for July 17, 7-11pm. The public is welcome. Venice locals, including prominent figures from the local entertainment industry, supported the gallery exhibition. "Sales of Brad's fine art seventies paparazzi prints went incredibly well so we decided to hold the exhibition over for three additional weeks," says Equator co-owner Michael Deyermond. "We have a very loyal group of customers and they really embraced Brad's work and his new book, 'Like It Was Yesterday.' The show closes on July 22, but we will still have access to the collection." The signed and numbered limited edition prints depict the escapades of a true teenage paparazzo with incredible access to legendary talent done with or without their permission. Elterman's subjects included Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Joan Jett of The Runaways and a teenage Matt Dillon. "I was friends with many of the bands and celebrities back then, but if I was turned down on a photo shoot, I just tracked them down and took the photos any way I could. A photo pass to a concert meant nothing to me. A photo of a rock star holding a microphone is a dime a dozen. I wanted to photograph stars backstage with a groupie, playing soccer in the park or simply walking down the street. Performing the paparazzi technique on rocks stars was practically unheard of back in the seventies and I guess that is why there is so much interest in my photographs these days," says Elterman. "We were blown away with all of the press exposure the exhibition attracted," comments Deyermond. "There was a full page feature in the Los Angeles Times, eight pages in the French fashion magazine, L'Officiel and a story in MOJO." When doing photo exhibitions, Elterman is a co-owner of the paparazzi photo agency, http://www.buzzfoto.com/ and has just launched his first blog http://bradelterman.tumblr.com/ . "I am having the time of my life these days and it is important for me to thank Michael and Philip from Equator Books for all of their hard work and support," says Elterman. Equator Books is located at 1103 Abbott Kinney Blvd in Venice, California. They are open six days a week and closed on Mondays.
