WASHINGTON, March 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Democratic National
Committee today released a new web ad called "Bush/McCain: Lockstep" which
highlights the ways John McCain has marched in lockstep with President Bush
every step of the way on Iraq. From echoing the Bush Administration's false
and misleading case for war in the weeks after 9/11, to parroting their rosy
rhetoric as Iraq descended into chaos, John McCain has been President Bush's
most loyal foot soldier from Day One. Now, McCain has promised to keep our
troops in Iraq for 100 years. As the ad notes, President Bush and John McCain
were wrong then, and they're wrong now.

"After marching in lockstep with President Bush, John McCain now refuses to
outline a plan for the future, even as everyone admits that Iraq's leaders
have failed to make the political progress the surge was supposed to make
possible," said Democratic National Committee Communications Director Karen
Finney. "John McCain was wrong then and he's wrong now. After five years of
President Bush's failed leadership on Iraq, the last thing the voters are
looking for is a third Bush term."
