Nokia`s Rick Simonson Named to Silver Spring Networks Board of Directors

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Silver Spring Networks, a leading Smart Grid solutions provider, today announced
the addition of Rick Simonson, Head of Mobile Phones for Finland-based Nokia, to
its Board of Directors. Rick, formerly Nokia`s Chief Financial Officer, will
chair the Audit Committee.

Rick serves as a member of the Nokia Group Executive Board and assumed his role
as Head of Mobile Phones on November 1, 2009. The unit accounts for more than
half of net sales for Nokia Devices & Services. For the previous six years,
Simonson held the position of Chief Financial Officer. He joined Nokia in 2001
as Vice President and Head of Customer Finance. In addition to his duties at
Nokia, Simonson serves on the Board of Directors of Electronic Arts Inc. and the
Board of Trustees of International House. He served on the 2008 US Treasury
Advisory Committee on the Auditing Profession.
