Guildhall Mobilizes Rig for Drilling Program on Two New Well Licenses
CALGARY, ALBERTA, Jul 14 (MARKET WIRE) --
Guildhall Minerals Ltd., Operating as Edge Resources (TSX VENTURE:
EDE)(PINK SHEETS: GDMHF) ("Edge Resources" or the "Company") is pleased
to announce that the Company has been granted drilling licenses for its
two new Edmonton Sands wells. Additionally, the Company has obtained the
services of an active drilling rig, which is expected to move to the
first of the two locations later this week, weather permitting. The
Company has served its partners with Independent Operations Notices in
connection with the commencement of its anticipated two-well drilling
program. The Company continues to seek additional drilling opportunities
and licenses for new locations.
The Company's two-well drilling program consists of one well per section,
on two sections, to be drilled conventionally and vertically to
approximately 1,000 meters, targeting multiple zones in each wellbore.
The multiple zone targets are all within the Edmonton Sands group of
formations. Due to extensive well control and multiple zone targets,
Edmonton Sands wells have a historically high drilling success rate.
The Company's President & CEO Brad Nichol commented, "We are pleased to
have secured one of the few rigs in Alberta that has worked since
breakup, which will ensure we have a warm, experienced crew and top-notch
equipment. We have used these 'Super-Single Automatic Drilling Rigs
(ADR)' in the past and the combination of experienced crews with
efficient equipment has proven to be a big success on these shallow
wells. Additionally, we anticipate taking advantage of drastically
decreased rates for services compared to only a few months ago. We
continue to negotiate with other companies to add to our existing
drilling program and increase our working interest positions on the
current program."
About the Company:
Edge Resources is focused on the development of natural gas from the
Edmonton Sands group of formations, a conventional, shallow gas group of
reservoirs located in Central Alberta, Canada. The Management Team's very
high success rate is based on the safe, efficient deployment of capital
and a proven ability to efficiently execute in shallow gas, specifically
the Edmonton Sands, which gives Edge Resources a sustainable, low-cost
competitive advantage.
The Alberta Government estimates that there is 44 trillion cubic feet
("TCF") of non-producing, shallow natural gas in Alberta. Edge Resources'
Management Team has evaluated over 20,000 sections of land and has
identified over 200 "five-star" sections. The Company's development
program focuses on pursuing only these highly prospective "five-star"
Edmonton Sands prospects.
