EDF Energies Nouvelles (Paris:EEN) stepped up the development of its solar
photovoltaic segment during the first half of 2009 by launching the construction
of 93 MWp in new projects.

At 30 June 2009, the Group had a total of 144 MWp in gross solar capacity in
service or under construction compared with 50 MWp gross at year-end 2008. This
momentum has enabled EDF Energies Nouvelles to already achieve its target of 100
to 150 MWp in service or under construction which had been set for 31 December
2009.

PROJECTS COMMISSIONED

During the first half of 2009, EDF Energies Nouvelles commissioned 6.8 MWp in
gross capacity (6.1 MWp net) mostly in Italy and the United States.

First major roof-array project completed

In Italy, eight ground-based plants each with around 1 MWp in capacity were
commissioned, while in the United States the Group commissioned its first major
roof-array project (1.8 MWp) on warehouses in New Jersey.

At 30 June 2009, the Group thus had 27.6 MWp in service, including 19.0 MWp held
for its own account.

As part of its DSSA activities, EDF Energies Nouvelles also built and
commissioned 1.9 MWp in projects sold to third parties.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

With construction of 93 MWpstarted during thefirst half of 2009, EDF Energies
Nouvelles had 116 MWp in gross capacity under construction at 30 June 2009,
compared with 29.2 MWp at year-end 2008.

Large-scale ground-based power plants

The greater part of these projects consists of large-scale ground-based plants
located in France, Spain and Canada, most are due to be commissioned by the end
of the first quarter of 2010.

* In France, the Group launched the construction of the first two phases of the
Gabardan photovoltaic facility (26 MWp) in the Landes region. This power plant
may ultimately reach 76 MWp in total capacity, making it the largest solar
facility in Europe. In the Alpes de Haute Provence region, the Group launched
the construction of two facilities in Sainte Tulle (5.2 MWp) and Manosque (4.1
MWp). On Reunion Island, work has been initiated on the Mangassaye power plant
(5.1 MWp for third party) while the construction of La Roseraye (10.5 MWp for
own account) is going on.
* In Spain, the construction of Casatejada (11.1 MWp) project has been launched.

* In Canada, the Group started the construction of two large-scale power plants
(Arnprior) with 23.4 MWp in total capacity.

The other projects under construction represent small capacity ground-based
facilities in Italy (around 9 MWp) and roof-array projects in France (8.5 MWp).

EDF Energies Nouvelles` expansion momentum in the photovoltaic segment is in
line with the Group`s target of achieving 500 MWp in net installed capacity by
year-end 2012.

About EDF Energies Nouvelles

With operations in ten European countries and in America, EDF Energies Nouvelles
is a market leader in renewable energies. With a development focused on wind
energy for several years and more recently on solar photovoltaic, now a second
priority avenue of development, the Group is also present in other segments of
the renewable energies market: small hydro, biomass, biofuel and biogas. In
addition, the Group is expanding its presence in the distributed renewable
energies sector.

EDF Energies Nouvelles is a 50 %-owned subsidiary of the EDF Group. Since
November 2006, EDF Energies Nouvelles is listed in Euronext Paris, code "EEN",
ISIN code: FR0010400143).

Given the large number and size of solar projects, EDF Energies Nouvelles has
decided not to issue a press release each time a new power plant is
commissioned, but to publish a review of its solar operations, such as this, on
a regular basis.
