Packers Plus(R) launches new 20 stage completion system
StackFRAC(R) HD multi-stage system created for optimal wellbore
stimulation
CALGARY, July 13 /PRNewswire/ - Packers Plus launched its new 20 stage
StackFRAC(R) HD "High Density" Multi-Stage Fracturing System to meet the
demand from oil and gas operators for more stimulation stages in horizontal
wells.
"We can now effectively isolate and successfully stimulate as many as 20
stages," said President Dan Themig. "This gives us a tremendous opportunity in
this economy to meet the needs of our customers. It is our focus to
continually create leading-edge technology in multi-stage completions."
One of the recent wells completed with the StackFRAC(R) HD was a system run in
the Torquay formation in southwest Manitoba. The installation went smoothly,
and the fracture stimulation was successfully accomplished in one day. The
operator plans to continue running it for their future wells in the Torquay.
"We are very happy with the results of our new system and the customer
response has been very positive," said Canadian Business Unit Director Doug
Bobrosky. "Several other customers in Canada and the U.S. are installing the
new system and are excited about the possibilities that additional stages
present."
The benefits of the new StackFRAC(R) HD system are that it allows for
increased production through longer laterals and shorter stage lengths; costs
are further reduced by smaller frac strings and liner sizes. To date, systems
have been successfully installed in both Canada and the US.
