AUSTIN, Texas--(Business Wire)--
New York Life Insurance Company representatives from New York Life Insurance
Company`s Long Term Care Office (LTC) in Austin participated in the company`s
first Global Month of Service in May.

To champion the Supporting Youth Worldwide theme, 27 New York Life volunteers
partnered with LifeWorks to refurbish the organization`s Transitional Living
Shelter and conducted a clothing drive for newborn infants of teenage mothers.
LifeWorks is a local non-profit organization which provides a continuum of
services in the areas of housing, counseling and education to youth and families
in need.

New York Life designated May as Global Month of Service, to expand its
long-standing tradition of giving back, providing New York Life employees,
agents, family members, friends and policyholders an opportunity to make a
global impact in local communities. Over 3,500 New York Life volunteers
contributed 50,000 volunteer hours worldwide in over 200 projects for this
initiative.

"Employees of New York Life`s LTC Operation based in Austin embraced the
opportunity to make a positive impact in the local community by volunteering at
LifeWorks," said Mike Gallo, senior vice president, Long Term Care, New York
Life. "We were proud to be able to contribute time and energy to support youth
as New York Life employees and agents did across the globe in May."

"New York Life Volunteers are making a significant impact on the lives of young
people, many of whom did not grow up with stable adult relationships. All youth
have the potential to succeed if they know that adults support them," said Susan
McDowell, LifeWorks Executive Director. "New York Life demonstrates their faith
in our youth through financial support and by rolling up their sleeves the way
any parent would to help their own child learn new skills and prepare for
adulthood. The work of nonprofit organizations like LifeWorks would not be
possible without this kind of corporate commitment."

New York Life Insurance Company, a Fortune 100 company founded in 1845, is the
largest mutual life insurance company in the United States and one of the
