SpeechTEK 2009 will focus on cost-cutting business strategies
LEXINGTON, Ky.--(Business Wire)-- Organizers of the 2009 SpeechTEK Conference and Exposition (www.speechtek.com) have announced that this year`s event will focus extensively on innovative strategies for cutting costs. The conference and exposition are being held August 24-26 at the New York Marriott Marquis. The theme for this year`s conference is Speech in the Enterprise. Most of the sessions will reveal how speech technology has become a strategic asset in today`s businesses and organizations and how the technology is helping them cut costs in a difficult economy. While call center solutions are the most apparent applications for speech, conference organizers point out that the technology is being used to achieve operational efficiencies throughout the enterprise. "It is an exciting time in the speech technology industry. A variety of solutions are now available that weren`t around only a few years ago, such as low-cost hosted speech systems, outbound automated messaging technologies, speech analytics, and security and privacy tools," says David Myron, conference program director and editorial director of Speech Technology and CRM magazines. "These solutions are extremely valuable in a challenging economy as they can help organizations cut costs, increase revenues, and improve customer satisfaction." Three of the four main conference tracks for the 15th annual conference and exposition are directed toward helping business executives and managers identify solutions and strategies for cutting costs, improve customer satisfaction, and realize productivity and efficiency gains. A fifth conference track, SpeechTEK Labs and Demos, provides attendees with hands-on opportunities to sample the latest products and exposure to objective evaluations of some of the ways companies are using speech. Registrants attending the lab sessions can join SpeechTEK judges in evaluating speech synthesis solutions, speaker identification and verifications tools, and mobile devices. Also, in one of the demos, In Beta, attendees can get a sneak peek at the latest speech technologies that are currently being developed. Embedded throughout the agenda are real-world customer case studies where actual users will share their experiences procuring and deploying speech solutions. Among the industries represented are airlines, construction, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, government, and wireless telecommunications. SpeechTEK 2009 is co-located with CRM Evolution, which offers a separate agenda designed to help sales, marketing, and service professionals explore improvements in customer relationships. Together the SpeechTEK and CRM Evolution conferences will consist of over 100 seminars and demonstrations covering every aspect of automated voice applications and customer relationship management. The SpeechTEK/CRM Evolution Expo, a 23,000 square-foot showcase of the latest technologies and applications, is the industry`s largest gathering of speech exhibitors.
