TEC Canada Appoints New President
CALGARY, ALBERTA, Jul 13 (MARKET WIRE) --
Attention: Business Editors
TEC (The Executive Committee) Canada has announced the appointment of
Catherine Osler as its new President. The announcement was made July 2 at
the company's headquarters in Calgary Alberta. Osler comes to this new
position after a successful career as an accomplished entrepreneur. She
has built her career on her ability to create vision, deliver results and
build community.
Lynn Tanner, CEO and Chairman of TEC Canada said that he and his team are
excited about the leadership that Catherine will provide to build on the
proven strengths and ability to address the key challenges of CEOs and
stimulate their personal and professional success.
"We are delighted to have someone as qualified and well suited to our
organization as Catherine Osler. As she invested in her own development
as a CEO she was a long standing member of our organization. When she
sold her business, she embarked on the next phase of her career as a
business strategist with a focus on leadership development. She joined
TEC, as a Chair, building a group in Vancouver, successfully inspiring
and guiding the CEO members to build strong, thriving organizations. She
comes to us now with the skills and drive to lead the next phase of
growth for our company."
TEC Canada has distinguished itself as a leader in the field of CEO
education and development. The company is affiliated with Vistage
International - an international organization of more than 14,000 CEO's
and Presidents of growth-oriented businesses. It is the largest and
longest established CEO membership organization in the world. Members
meet monthly in small groups to exchange ideas and information, share
their experience and expertise and help each other tackle the challenges
and opportunities of running their businesses.
Osler's appointment supports Tanner's desire to see the company embark on
a new phase of growth. Catherine is looking forward to the challenges of
taking on a top executive role in this successful company and guiding its
next phase of growth and development, especially one that she knows so
well. "I am thrilled to be joining the TEC Canada team," said Osler.
"Joining a company which has a demonstrated record of building CEO's
personal and business success is very exciting."
Osler will lead a change initiative that will see a dynamic
reorganization and restructuring as well as the renewal of the TEC brand
and its promise. This will require a combination of vision, community
building, communication, collaboration and a grounding in brand
development, a unique mix that Osler embodies.
Prior to this appointment, Osler spent 10 years working as a strategic
advisor to CEOs across North America. She brings to this position the
wisdom and insight gained through thousands of hours of coaching and the
40 plus executives that she has had the privilege to work closely with
since she established her practice in 2001.
Prior to this past decade, Osler established herself as a leader in the
corporate communications field. She was the founder, President and CEO
responsible for the growth and success of Titian Communications, a
leading edge communications firm in Calgary in the fast growing decade of
the 1980s. She counted high energy juniors such as Chauvco Resources,
Morrison Petroleum, and Sceptre Resources as her clients, as well as the
more established firms such as TransCanda Pipelines. After a successful
merger and an acquisition to strengthen the new firm, Parallel
Strategies, Osler built the firm's presence in Vancouver, again counting
the leading firms in the resource sector among her clients. Parallel
Strategies rose to become one of Western Canada's largest regional
marketing and corporate communications firms with 100 employees in BC and
Alberta and gross annual revenues of $25 million.
Osler is the winner of an Influential Woman in Business Award in
Vancouver recognizing not only her accomplishments as an entrepreneur but
her contributions to the community. She has served on Boards in the
public, private, and non profit sectors. She is currently in her 3rd term
as Board Chair of the Women's Enterprise Centre in British Columbia, a
Western Economic Diversification funded initiative.
Catherine lives in Vancouver BC with her husband Peter and close to her
grown children in Victoria and Calgary. When she is not working, she can
be found on the water, rowing, kayaking or pursuing her passion for
sailing.
