Leading Not-for-profit Kidney Dialysis Services Provider Opens its 16th Center

HOUSTON, Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Satellite Healthcare, one of the nation's
first and leading providers of kidney dialysis services and a major sponsor of
nephrology research, today announced the official opening of WellBound of
Houston. This is its first home dialysis center in the state of Texas. This
"Center of Excellence" interacts closely with nephrologists at the Baylor
College of Medicine and nephrologists from surrounding communities. The goal
of the Center is to provide chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients with
education about kidney disease and early-stage wellness education plus
innovative self-care dialysis therapies.

"Today's center opening in Houston provides WellBound the opportunity to bring
its unique CKD education and treatment approach directly to the patients in
another key market," said Marc Branson, Executive Vice President of Dialysis
Services at Satellite Healthcare. "This milestone provides strong evidence of
our commitment to expansion while also demonstrating the broad-ranging demand
from both patients and nephrologists for our innovative brand of self-care
dialysis."

With its track record of successfully developing self-care dialysis programs,
WellBound is uniquely positioned to expand the implementation of home dialysis
therapies in the greater Houston area. The new Center provides the ability to
address a significant need in light of the expanding body of scientific
evidence. The evidence points out those patients who receive more frequent
and longer dialysis via self-care therapies achieve superior clinical outcomes
and enhanced quality of life as compared to those that do not.

WellBound of Houston will provide patients in surrounding communities with
access to the complete spectrum of self-care therapies including all forms of
daily home dialysis (short daily and long nocturnal), continuous ambulatory
peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), and continuous cycler peritoneal dialysis (CCPD).
Additionally, the company will offer patients individualized self-care
training programs, while also providing them with innovative CKD wellness
classes on topics including controlling blood pressure, stress management,
exercise, nutrition, decreasing risks of cardiovascular disease and diabetes
care.

"My Nephrology and Medical colleagues at Baylor College of Medicine are
committed to providing our patients with the most innovative and effective
care of patients with chronic kidney disease. We believe our affiliation with
WellBound opens a new door allowing us to provide innovative care to patients
with kidney disease," stated William E. Mitch, M.D., Director, Division of
Nephrology at the Baylor College of Medicine, and medical director of the new
WellBound of Houston program. "We're proud to have played a key role in
bringing the state of Texas its first WellBound center. We are even more
eager to provide this benefit for patients with chronic kidney disease."

The new center is located at 7505 South Main, Suite 120, Houston, TX 77030.

About Self-Care Dialysis
The term self-care dialysis refers to those dialysis therapies which patients
are able to self-administer outside the confines of hemodialysis centers,
including peritoneal dialysis and all types of home hemodialysis. A growing
collection of clinical research demonstrates that more frequent, more
consistent dialysis associated with home dialysis provides patients with
improved health outcomes such as improved mortality rates and reduced
hospitalizations. Home dialysis also offers significant quality of life
advantages including greater convenience, more flexible schedules, and fewer
fluid and dietary restrictions.
