MONTEREY, CA, Jul 13 (MARKET WIRE) --
Approximately 2,100 acres of land overlooking the Soledad Valley sold for
$1.32 million on Saturday, July 11, in an auction that attracted 13
bidders.

The property was sold in 11 parcels ranging from approximately 40 acres to
approximately 440 acres. After going through multiple rounds of bidding on
individual parcels and combinations of parcels, the property was sold to
three bidders, according to Warren Ward, president of Albert Burney
Auction Company, which managed the auction.

"We had expected a good response, and we weren't disappointed. Our bidding
format -- which allows bidders to compete for individual parcels or
combinations -- enabled bidders to get just the combinations they wanted,"
said Ward.

A luxury home site in the Santa Lucia Preserve -- which was scheduled for
a July 12th auction -- was sold last week to former Stanford running back
Tommy Vardell, who spent eight years in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns,
Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers.
