WASHINGTON--(Business Wire)--
The Communications Workers of America was one of the 11 member unions of the
National Labor Coordinating Committee at today`s meeting at the White House with
President Obama.

"We appreciate the opportunity to meet with President Obama today to discuss
some of the critical issues for working families, including Employee Free Choice
and restoring the bargaining rights of the American worker, and what we need to
do to achieve real health care reform," said CWA President Larry Cohen.

This is an historic time, because President Obama is providing real leadership
and real opportunity to restore the American dream for millions of working
families. The National Labor Coordinating Committee, representing 16 million
workers, is determined to unify the labor movement so that we can build on that
opportunity and help resolve the economic challenges facing our nation, CWA
said.

"In every other industrial democracy, working people have the full right to
voice and a seat at the table. Restoring that right to American workers through
the Employee Free Choice Act will help rebuild the middle class and move our
economy forward. In the same way, real health care reform that addresses our
current flawed system will boost our economy," Cohen said.

All of the unions of the National Labor Coordinating Committee are united on
these critical issues.
