Energizer Battery, Inc. Announces Recall of Wallplate Nightlight

ST. LOUIS, July 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Energizer Battery, Inc. today
announced the voluntary recall of the Light On Demand Wallplate Nightlight,
sold under the Energizer brand. Based on internal sampling and testing, some
units demonstrate the potential for overheating. This risk may be increased if
a device or appliance is plugged into one of the outlets on the unit. To date,
Energizer has received no consumer complaints regarding this product, nor have
we received any reports of injury or property damage associated with this
product.

Energizer distributed approximately 3,000 units of this product in the U.S.
The product was first available in retail stores in August, 2008.

Energizer is working in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety
Commission to cease distribution of and recall this product.

Through the recall program, consumers who return the Light On Demand Wallplate
Nightlight to Energizer will be reimbursed for the retail cost of the product.
Energizer will provide a pre-paid mailing label for easy return. Consumers
should not attempt to return the recalled product to retailers. For more
information about the product and the recall program, consumers can call (800)
782-2013 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Central Time. Consumers
can also go to energizer.com to see photos of the recalled product, and to
obtain further information regarding the recall program.
