BET Recognizes the Achievements of CEO Janice Bryant Howroyd with 'THE BET
HONORS'

    TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- BET Networks celebrated the
inaugural THE BET HONORS, on Saturday, January 12th, an evening dedicated to
recognizing the achievements and contributions of distinguished African
American leaders in their fields. Hosted by Cedric "The Entertainer," THE BET
HONORS celebrates remarkable contributions of Alicia Keys (Entertainment),
Tyra Banks (Media), Dr. Cornel West (Inspirational/Education), Richard Parsons
(Corporate), the Honorable Maxine Waters (Government) and CEO Janice Bryant
Howroyd (Entrepreneur). "These inspiring individuals have distinguished
themselves professionally in their respective fields, have given back to the
community in a significant way and show us that we can be anything in the
world that we can dream. Their achievements encourage us, their energy
motivates us and their creativity inspires us -- and we thank them for that!"

    The inaugural event took place at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C.,
on Saturday, January 12th, and premiere on the network on Friday, February 22
at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT, airing during Black History Month.

    Honoree, Janice Bryant Howroyd CEO of the ACT-1 Group, the leading human

and Ebony's 100 Most Influential.  In 2006, She has been twice named by the
Star Group as one of the 50 Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World --
becoming the first African-American woman honored.
