ISSUE OF EQUITY

On 20 March 2008 Personal Assets Trust plc issued 885 of its Ordinary Shares of
£12.50 held in treasury at a price of £259.25 each.

The Company's issued share capital consists of 750,876 ordinary shares, of which
31,168 ordinary shares are held in Treasury. Therefore, the total number of
shares with voting rights in Personal Assets Trust plc is 719,708.

The above figure (719,708) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for
the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Personal Assets Trust plc
under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
