Amnesty International Hosts Return of Blueprint for Accountability Series with 'The Response' Film Screening Discussion to Follow with The Daily Show's Aasif Mandvi and Others WASHINGTON, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- For the return of the Blueprint for Accountability Film Series, Amnesty International USA will host a screening of the film The Response on Tuesday, October 27, at 7:00 p.m. The film focuses on the military tribunal case of a suspected enemy combatant at the U.S.-controlled detention facility in Guantanamo Bay and the three military judges slated to decide his fate. This groundbreaking courtroom drama is based on actual transcripts from Guantanamo military tribunals. It is one of the first dramas to illuminate tribunal processes and allow the audience to experience Guantanamo first-hand. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20081014/AILOGO) Starring Aasif Mandvi (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart), Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek: Voyager), and Peter Riegert (Animal House, The Sopranos), The Response was recently named the 2009 American Bar Association (ABA) Silver Gavel Award winner as best of the year in Drama & Literature.
