HOUSTON--(Business Wire)--
Today, the Texas Business Alliance (TBA) announced that U.S. Senate Committee on
Small Business and Entrepreneurship Chair Mary L. Landrieu (D-La) and Ranking
Member Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) will support the One Woman National Business
Conference (One Woman) as honorary chairs. Landrieu and Snowe head the U.S.
Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, which develops
legislation and examines messages, petitions, memorials, and other matters
relating to the Small Business Administration (SBA).

"We are pleased to support the small business development efforts of the Texas
Business Alliance," remarked Senators Landrieu and Snowe. "Small firms pump
almost a trillion dollars into the economy each year, create two-thirds of our
nation`s new jobs annually and account for more than half of America`s work
force. Our economy depends on the health of our 27 million small businesses. We
must focus our energy on strengthening our nation`s small businesses, which are
key to revitalizing America`s economic prosperity."

One Woman is a TBA small business development program to be held Thursday,
August 6, through Saturday, August 8, at the Omni Houston Hotel, Four Riverway,
Houston, Texas 77056. Comedian and businesswoman Joan Rivers and political
analyst Jamal Simmons headline the conference. One Woman will attract 500
registrants and more than 50 top presenters. The program is scheduled to include
intriguing and educational general sessions, interactive workshops, a tradeshow,
entertainment and networking mixers, and a Soaring Heights Awards Brunch
recognizing exemplar women`s enterprise programs.

"At Capital One, we`re proud to partner with community leaders and
organizations, such as the Texas Business Alliance, who share our commitment to
make a positive difference in the lives of local citizens and small businesses,"
said Annella Metoyer, Houston Market President, Capital One Bank. "We believe
it`s important to offer guidance and support to local small businesses as they
work through this challenging economic cycle. The One Woman National Business
Conference helps provide this vital guidance and support for local women small
business owners."
