PepsiCo Announces Appointment of Jonathan McIntyre as Senior Vice President,
R&D Global Beverages

PURCHASE, N.Y., July 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PepsiCo announced today the
appointment of Jonathan McIntyre, Ph.D., to the newly created position of
senior vice president, PepsiCo R&D Global Beverages, reporting to Mehmood
Khan, chief scientific officer, and Massimo d'Amore, chief executive officer,
PepsiCo Americas Beverages. 

As PepsiCo continues to accelerate the innovation in its global beverage
business, McIntyre will lead the R&D beverage transformation agenda worldwide.
To meet the ever-changing demands of consumers and retail customers, McIntyre
will be responsible for developing products with real functional and natural
advantages while continuing to apply credible science to enhance the broad
portfolio of PepsiCo's powerful beverage brands.  Most recently, PepsiCo
released naturally-sweetened, zero calorie variants of SoBe Life Water using
the Stevia root.

McIntyre is a highly credentialed scientist with expertise in the development
of nutritional beverages, sports drinks and other formulas. He has broad
experience in applied technology, food and sensory sciences, discovery
research, nutrition science, regulatory affairs, manufacturing
technology-engineering and quality control among other disciplines. 

Most recently, McIntyre served as senior vice president, technology and
innovation at Solae, a DuPont foods company.  Prior to Solae, McIntyre was
formerly chief of development and operations at Auxeris Therapeutics and
previously served as chief scientist at Monsanto Protein Technologies. 

McIntyre earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Cincinnati
and holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Grove City College. He will
be based at the company's headquarters in Purchase, NY and will begin his new
role on July 27, 2009.
