Janice Bryant Howroyd, Chairman and CEO of The ACT-1 Group, to be Honored
Along With Six Others as One of LA's Most Influential Business Leaders By The
National Association of Women Business Owners - Los Angeles (NAWBO-LA)

TORRANCE, Calif., March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Janice Bryant Howroyd, Chairman and
CEO of the ACT-1 Group, a global organization and leading human resources
conglomerate, will be among seven influential women honored by the National
Association of Women-Business Owners-LA. Awards will be handed out at the
Annual NAWBO-LA Leadership and Legacy Awards Luncheon on March 13, 2009 at the
Beverly Hilton Hotel. 

Howroyd will receive one of the organization's most distinguished honors, the
Legacy Award. The distinction recognizes individuals who have made a
significant impact on the well-being of the community.  Howroyd's
contributions demonstrate she has the foresight and generosity to recognize
her success is best savored when she "pays it forward." 

"Being honored by the women of NAWBO-LA, whom I phenomenally respect, is
tremendous," said Howroyd, who serves on the Board of Directors of the
Enterprise Institute of NAWBO-LA. "This award encourages me to continue to

luncheon theme is 'Standing Together,' and I'm proud and honored to stand with

The awards ceremony is sponsored by the Union Bank of California and is the
23rd Luncheon hosted by NAWBO-LA. The popular awards event will recognize the
work of LA's most influential Business Leaders. With Los Angeles being home to
one of the most robust economies in the United States, this event will honor
the global and national superstars whose businesses are based in Southern
California and will laud the top achievers who have created a legacy of
entrepreneurial excellence.
