GARDEN CITY, N.Y., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Healthcare Partners, IPA of New
York and Heritage Provider Network (HPN) are pleased to announce that HPN has
received the prestigious rank of Elite Status of Excellence for medical care
from the California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG). HPN is honored
with elite status for standards of excellence in all categories evaluated,
including care management, patient centered care, accountability and
transparency and health information technology. More than fifty percent of
California's health care is delivered by physicians employed by or contracted
with CAPG members. HPN provides quality medical care for hundreds of
thousands of patients in California and in New York through Healthcare
Partners, IPA.

"We are honored to be recognized with Elite status for standards of excellence
from CAPG and will continue to provide outstanding medical care and wellness
management to all of our valued patients," said Dr. Richard Merkin, founder
and CEO of HPN. "We are working diligently to provide solutions to the current
healthcare crisis, and we are dedicated to quality, affordable healthcare
putting patients' wellness first, investing time, resources and professionals
that respond to today's healthcare needs and tomorrow's healthcare challenges.
To everyone on our team, thank you for making the difference in assuring our
elite quality of care."

"I would like to offer my congratulations to Dr. Merkin and his Heritage
Provider Groups for receiving the CAPG's 2009 Standards of Excellence Elite
status," said Sen. Bob Dutton (R-Rancho Cucamonga). "It's clear that this
honor reflects the kind of quality service they provide to their patients."

"I am delighted that CAPG has acknowledged Heritage Provider Networks by
awarding us with the Elite Status of Excellence in Healthcare. We are
committed to improving and providing high quality, affordable healthcare for
all Californians. Our doctors and staff are focused on our patients' over-all
well being and are dedicated to serving all patients that need our help," said
Dr. Marc Hoffing, Medical Director and Internist, Desert Oasis Healthcare.

"The data provided by the Standards of Excellence Program offers consumers an
excellent tool to help them make informed decisions about their healthcare
provider," said CAPG's President and CEO Donald Crane. "Most important, the
SOE Program can serve as a model standard for other states as our nation's
leaders are considering massive reforms to our healthcare system and are
looking to Accountable Care Organizations and coordinated care practices like
those successfully pioneered by California's physician groups."

"Heritage Provider Network is dedicated to improving the quality of care and
service to its patients and physicians through innovation and passion.
Through brand programs such as Priority Care and Vital Care, we connect
patients throughout the continuum of care, providing additional resources,
which improve both clinical outcomes and cost effectiveness. In a competitive
environment, this sets us apart and creates the platform for continued growth
and improvement of the health care system. I am pleased CAPG has recognized
our efforts awarding Heritage Provider Network with Elite status of excellence
in healthcare," said Dr. Osmundo R. Saguil, Vice President Clinical Affairs,
HPN.
