International Medical Alliance to Host Fashion Show

Fundraiser Will Benefit Free Medical Care in Third World

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The International
Medical Alliance (IMA), an international consortium of physicians, nurses,
dentists and support staff, many from the Coachella Valley, will host a gala
fashion show fundraiser on Friday night, February 8, 2008 at the Westin
Mission Hills Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage, California. The event
entitled, "South American Extravaganza" will benefit the organization's
efforts to provide free medical care to underprivileged children and adults in
developing countries around the globe.

For the past seven years, IMA has recruited a team of approximately 40 health
care professionals who annually donate their time, and expertise to provide
medical and dental care for the impoverished. Thanks to the doctors of IMA,
over 35,000 people have received services, at no cost to them, ranging from
general medical care to treatment for critical burns, corneal diseases,
childhood asthma, facial disorders and scoliosis and other deformities.

The International Medical Alliance Gala will celebrate the IMA's
accomplishments and also use the opportunity to honor one of IMA's local
premiere physician/volunteers, Dr. Carlos A. Lopez, Medical Director of
Internal Medicine Specialist at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage. In
2006, Dr. Lopez traveled with the IMA to Latacunga, Ecuador, South America
with a diverse medical team from throughout the United States. He performed
consultations and procedures, gave lectures and assisted the local physicians
with their complex case files. He was an asset on this mission that served
thousands free of charge for 10 days.

The general public is invited to join Honorary Chairs, U.S. Congresswoman Mary
Bono; California State Senator James Battin; California State Assemblywoman
Bonnie Garcia; International Recording Artist, Trini Lopez and the friends and
supporters of the International Medical Alliance for a "South American
Extravaganza," a Gala with South American flavor and a fashion show under the
direction of "Nancy Whitlock Productions;" also featuring a performance by
professional Brazilian dance & song troupe, "Girls from Ipanema." This event
will be a fun and elegant "black-tie" dinner, which will be a mix of South
American cuisine; colors and romance of Columbia; music of Brazil. Reception
begins with a festive foyer at 5:30 p.m.
