San Francisco Supervisor Bevan Dufty and Legendary NFL Star Jerry Rice to
Introduce Team and Coaches Representing San Francisco in the 42nd
International Children's Games
    What:   Introduction of the youth and coaches representing the city of San
            Francisco

    When:   May 20th, 2008; 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

    Where:  San Francisco City Hall, Goodlett Steps
            1 Dr. Carlson B.Goodlett Drive


    Event Details:
    Former San Francisco 49er Jerry Rice and current City Supervisor Bevan
Dufty will introduce more than 90 youth from throughout the city who have been
selected to represent San Francisco at the 42nd International Children's Game.
The participants were chosen in citywide qualifying tournaments and tryouts
over three months.  These young individuals will join 1400 youth from 50
countries, spanning all six inhabitable continents, to compete in eight sports
in July 2008.
    The 42nd International Children's Games are endorsed by the International
Olympic Committee.

    About the 42nd International Children's Games
    Scheduled for July 10-15, 2008 the 42nd International Children's Games in
San Francisco will bring an estimated 2,000 coaches and athletes (12-15 years
of age) from 100 cities and 50 countries from around the world to participate.
Endorsed by the International Olympic Committee, the International Children's
Games is a premier global, youth athletic event that combines sports and
educational programs, cultural exchange opportunities and economic
development.  The games serve as a vehicle to promote alliances, friendships
and common understanding among children around the world and have done so
since 1968.
