YORK, Pa., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- LearntobeHealthy.org, a free health
education site developed by the Susan P. Byrnes Health Education Center, has
added new online curriculum for grades 10 through 12 that explores topics such
as stress management, bullying and cyber-bullying, maintaining healthy
relationships, staying safe online and making healthy decisions.

The new online kit, titled "Face the Music," informs teens of the dangers of
posting personal information and pictures online, the symptoms of common
mental health conditions teens may suffer from, and where to go for help. The
kit also helps teens identify types of stress, what stress does to the body,
and healthy ways to deal with it. As teens explore the kit, they will engage
in interactive activities through familiar technologies such as an iPod,
laptop and cell phone on their computer screen.

This new curriculum features many unique activities and tools that help teens
maintain healthy lifestyles. For example, teens who visit the site can create
an ePortfolio to highlight their strengths and abilities, promoting
self-esteem and exploring future goals. The kit also contains "Match Mania," a
dating-show style activity that guides teens through different attitudes and
personalities commonly found in high schools and how to navigate healthy
relationships.

As with all the health education games, activities and supplemental materials
found on LearntobeHealthy.org, those included in this new kit are aligned to
Pennsylvania and National Health Education Standards. LearntobeHealthy.org is
a free online health education resource for teachers, students age K-12, and
parents made possible through funding provided by Highmark Healthy High 5, a
children's health promotion initiative of the Highmark Foundation.
