NAWBO Honors Top 10 Michigan Business Women for 2008 on March 13

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Association of
Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Greater Detroit Chapter will honor the Top 10
Michigan Business Women. The 14th Annual Awards Luncheon will take place
Thurs., March 13 at the Detroit Yacht Club.
    Ten impressive women will receive a Top 10 Michigan Business Women award.
They include:    * Elizabeth Schmidt, Atlas Tool, Roseville
      Pinnacle Award

    * Maria Elena Rodriguez, Mexicantown Community Development Corporation,
      Detroit
      Diversity Champion Award

    * Donna Zobel, Myron Zucker, Sterling Heights
      Rainmaker Award

    * Linda Girard, Pure Visibility, Ann Arbor
      Up and Coming Award

    * Jackie Gant, Native American Business Alliance, Bingham Farms
      Words of Wisdom Award

    * Ester Burns, Grand Valley State University, Allendale
      Red Tape Buster Award

    * Jean Huskey, Art Huskey and Sons, Saint Ignace
      Warrior Award

    * Nipa Shah, Jenesys Group, Novi
      Global Business Award

    * Denise Lewis, Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, Detroit
      Breakthrough Award

    * Shawne Duperon, Shawne TV, Novi
      Giving Spirit Award


Faye Nelson from the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, Inc. will also be
honored for her leadership by NAWBO Greater Detroit with the Greater Good
Award. This special award recognizes a woman or man whose activities and
actions have a lasting impact on the quality of life and business in metro
Detroit, Southeast Michigan and the State of Michigan.
    This event will also feature a Business-to-Business showcase with
exhibitors. Registration and exhibits begin at 10 a.m., followed by the awards
luncheon.
