"BBVA Compass is honored to receive this award," said Alvaro Aguilar, BBVA
Compass Director of Innovation and Office of the Chairman. "This award
acknowledges the commitment and strategic importance across the BBVA Group to
constantly innovate - even in today's complex environment."
The BBVA Compass Virtual Banker is a custom made, fully interactive high-end
video conference platform that will allow the bank to offer specialized
one-on-one services, such as mortgages and investment advice, regardless of
the banker's geographic location, directly to any branch. Integrated document
sharing functionality allows the banker to simultaneously exchange documents
and brochures on screen with the customer, send documents to the local printer
at the customer's station at the branch, and retrieve signed documents from
customers using an integrated scanner.
A pilot program of the Virtual Banker is under development and will be
launched by end of Summer 2009 for the Wealth Management Group and mortgage
banking areas.
Shelaghmichael Brown, BBVA Compass, Head of Retail Banking said, "We are
excited about the rollout of the Virtual Banker pilot in Houston. The BBVA
Compass Virtual Banker will eventually bring an additional portfolio of
products to every branch, which will enhance the customer experience and is
aligned with achieving a customer centric, universal banking model."
"The BBVA Compass Virtual Banker(SM) was developed in collaboration with
Atento, one of the world's most important Contact Center companies, utilizing
their core APV platform and Hewlett Packard's TouchSmart PC technology. The
experience is almost like having the customer and the banker interacting face
to face in the same office," according to Alejandro E. Carriles, BBVA Compass
Director of Research & Development.
