Tinker.com and Msnbc.com Team Up to Provide Real-Time Twitter Integration for
the Senate Confirmation Hearing of Supreme Court Nominee Judge Sonia Sotomayor
Companies Livecast D.C. Event Following Hugely Successful Stream of Michael
Jackson Memorial and President Obama's Virtual Town Hall Meeting

SILICON VALLEY, Calif. and REDMOND, Wash., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- After
collaborating on two successful live events -- President Obama's virtual town
hall on health care and Michael Jackson's public memorial -- msnbc.com and
Glam Media Lab's Tinker.com are once again teaming up to provide msnbc.com's
audience with the ability to both watch live streaming video coverage of the
Senate confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Judge Sonia Sotomayor
and to tweet in real-time during this event (see
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31889336/). Msnbc.com personalities will be
tweeting live throughout the hearing and will be featured alongside comments
from around the world.

Most recently, Tinker.com partnered with msnbc.com for its live streaming of
Michael Jackson's public memorial, which not only shattered the site's online
video stream record with nearly 19 million total streams, but was also the
first time msnbc integrated Twitter into a live, major news event. The
Tinker.com application widget received more than 10 million views with over
165,000 Michael Jackson-related tweets during the event. MSNBC and msnbc.com
personalities, including Contessa Brewer and Courtney Hazlett, provided live
tweets from the event.

Previously, Tinker partnered with msnbc.com for its live stream of President
Obama's virtual town hall on health care, to enable users to tweet questions
and comments directly to the president while watching the live stream. During
the hour-and-a-half live town hall, tweets appeared from people all over the
world on the Tinker application widget next to the live video in real-time.

"Tinker.com is honored to help msnbc.com's worldwide audience participate in
social media conversations on the Sotomayor confirmation," said Jennifer
Salant, Vice President of Business Development for Tinker.com. "Glam Media
Lab's Tinker Application empowers people to discover, filter and share
conversations around real-time news events tailored to their interests, and we
look forward to continued collaborations with msnbc.com."

"Msnbc.com, already one of the most popular destinations for live political
events, believes that events themselves are only half the story. Increasingly,
the conversations that occur around and during these events are equally
informative and fascinating," said Mike Davidson, President of Newsvine,
msnbc.com's social networking site. "With Twitter becoming a de facto vehicle
to collect distributed thoughts on news events, msnbc.com is happy to
experiment with ways it best fits into our coverage. With short-form
conversation occurring via Twitter, powered and curated by Tinker.com, and
long-form conversation blooming on our own property, Newsvine, msnbc.com gives
you more than just the event itself. We give you a place to be part of it."

Launched in March, Tinker.com is the first service that lets users create
real-time conversation streams around events. Tinker aggregates and curates
real time conversations from Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, FriendFeed and other
micro-blogging platforms around specific events and breaking news. People can
use Tinker to create and curate their own personal or professional events, or
to break local and national news. Events can be private, with invites and
permission required to join the conversation, or public social events where
anyone can connect and participate. Tinker Trends let users see top events and
breaking news, and chart which events are rising and growing socially in
popularity.

Tinker gives news organizations like msnbc.com the ability to add real-time
conversation streams to their own web sites and live-TV video streams. Tinker
also provides a powerful moderation platform that allows partners to manage
curated streams in real-time.

Tinker enables publishers to create customizable and monetizable applications
and widgets to share Tinker event streams on their own web sites or blogs.
Tinker offers advertisers curation and filtration mechanisms with a range of
controls to ensure brands will not be seen near potentially harmful posts.
Event stream creators can set the filter level for conversations to safe,
moderate, or open--enabling the first live curation of user generated feeds.
Event moderators can also specifically choose to show feeds from a list of
people, or exclude a set of people, and can look for words that should be
excluded from the event streams.

Tinker event streams are distributed through the Glam and Brash Distribution &
Publisher Network with over 111 million unique visitors and 2.5 billion page
views a month--creating one of the largest events news sharing platforms
today.
