H. Morgan Griffith to Join Albo & Oblon, L.L.P.
ARLINGTON, Va., June 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- H. Morgan Griffith has joined the law firm Albo & Oblon, L.L.P. as a Partner. He will be Partner-in-Charge of the firm's new Roanoke/Salem office. Initially, he will be one of two lawyers at that office. He will continue his practice of criminal and civil litigation. Albo & Oblon, L.L.P., founded in 1995, is one of Virginia's 50 largest law firms and has offices in Arlington, Fairfax, Norfolk/Hampton Roads, Roanoke/Salem, and Washington, D.C. The firm practices employment law, government contracts, business law/civil litigation, and criminal defense. "Albo & Oblon is one of Virginia's newer statewide firms, but is off to a great start," said Griffith. "I want to help build it and take it to the next level." When asked what attracted him to the firm, Griffith replied, "Albo & Oblon is a relatively concentrated group of smart, aggressive lawyers; they are one of the few reasonably-priced statewide law firms in Virginia." He also appreciated that "they provide flexibility to its lawyers who are also elected officials, so that we can properly serve our communities in addition to practicing law." David A. Oblon, the firm's Managing Partner, said, "Our growth strategy has been simply to mix together some unique Virginia and regional lawyers and watch them do great things together for our clients. Morgan definitely belongs in this group." Asked about the wisdom of opening two new Virginia offices - Norfolk/Hampton Roads and Roanoke/Salem - in the current economic environment, Mr. Oblon said, "I've seen no signs of the economy negatively affecting our firm. Rather, I suspect that our recent growth may be the result of businesses increasingly looking for midsized law firms for the cost savings. There simply aren't a lot of midsized, statewide law firms in Virginia." (NOTE: The firm encourages its attorneys to participate in public service and charity work. Mr. Griffith is Majority Leader of the Virginia General Assembly's House of Delegates. Two other Albo & Oblon attorneys are elected officials. David B. Albo is also a state Delegate and is Chairman of the House Courts of Justice (Judiciary) Committee. Michael C. May is a member of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors. Albo & Oblon, however, has a policy banning the firm from lobbying the General Assembly or Prince William County.) SOURCE Albo & Oblon, L.L.P. David A.
