AFA Announces Speakers at 2008 Air & Space Conference; Media Sign-up Now
Available Online

The Air Force Association today announced forums with Assistant Secretary of
Defense Michael Vickers and Dr. Neil Daswani, an Internet security expert from
Google, at this year's upcoming Air & Space Conference.

Advance media registration is now available online for the Air Force
Association's 2008 Air & Space Conference and Technology Exposition next
month.

Among this year's highlights:

-- Dr. Neil Daswani, a top mind at Google, will address emerging
Cyber-threats on the Web including next-generation phishing and how
cyber-criminals monetize their cyber-attacks.

-- Retired senior Air Force Leaders, General Richard Hawley, General Ronald
Keys, General Richard Myers, and General Michael Ryan will hold a panel
discussion on the evolution of fighter aviation.

-- Mr. Michael Vickers is currently the Assistant Secretary of Defense for
Special Operations/Low-Intensity Conflict & Interdependent Capabilities. In
the mid-1980s, he was the principal strategist for the largest covert action
program in CIA's history: the paramilitary operation that drove the Soviet
army out of Afghanistan. He will address the challenges the Air Force faces
in meeting the requirements of the QDR and the GWOT.

-- Best selling author Dale Brown will participate in a panel of former
Airmen who went on to have successful civilian careers.

The three-day event, September 15-17, 2008, is a full slate of nearly three
dozen speakers including forums, professional development workshops, addresses
by the Air Force's senior leaders and the Four Star Forum.

More than 6,500 people attended last year's Conference & Exposition, which
featured 137 exhibitions showcasing the latest in aerospace technology
developments.
