Paul J. Mass Named President of ClosingCorp
Successful Technology Executive Brings Legal and Business Experience SAN DIEGO, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Paul Mass, an accomplished business executive with more than 20 years of experience building and leading communications and technology companies, has joined ClosingCorp as president. Having served on the company's board of directors since 2007, he will now manage its day-to-day activities and continue to contribute to ClosingCorp's long-term strategic direction. Mass has been active in startup ventures, operations and finance since starting his career has a corporate attorney. Between 1987 and 1997, Mass served as Chief Operating Officer of CableSouth, Inc., which he and ClosingCorp Chief Executive Officer Tony Farwell, built into one of the southeast's largest multiple system operators. CableSouth was sold to Charter Communications in 1995. Mass helped spearhead CableSouth's successful expansion into radio through its subsidiary, BayCom Partners, LP. Its six major market radio stations were sold to American Radio Systems in 1996. Mass and Farwell also co-founded TV Data Technologies, LP, the world's largest TV listings and entertainment information provider, later sold to the Tribune Company. Mass co-founded and served as president and a board member of Main Street Broadband LLC, an Atlanta-based company organized to capitalize on the wireless broadband market in areas that are otherwise underserved. Main Street will initially deploy fixed wireless systems with WiMax functionality. Mass began his career in 1977 as a corporate attorney with the Atlanta law firm of Long & Aldridge (k/n/a McKenna, Long & Aldridge), where he specialized in mergers, acquisitions, and general corporate matters. In 1981, he was hired as VP and General Counsel of Cable America, Inc. an operator of some of the nation's largest cable systems serving metro Atlanta and portions of the City of Los Angeles. Paul earned a B.A. in Political Science from Duke University in 1974, magna cum laude, and his J.D. from the Emory University School of Law in 1977, Order of the Coif, and was a Member of the Board, Emory Law Journal.
