Fulfillment Fund to Honor Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann at Annual STARS 2009
Benefit Gala





Jonah Hill and Jason Segel are set to Emcee; Special Performance by John Mayer


LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fulfillment Fund, a nonprofit
dedicated to helping promising yet disadvantaged students graduate from high
school and complete college, will honor Director/Writer/Producer Judd Apatow
and his wife, actress Leslie Mann, at its STARS 2009 Benefit Gala, Monday,
October 26, 2009 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.  The evening will include a
special Gitnick Visionary Award presentation to Jana Waring Greer, President
and CEO of SunAmerica Retirement Markets.  Jonah Hill and Jason Segel will
serve as Masters of Ceremony.  Entertainment will include a special
performance by John Mayer and the evening will feature an opportunity drawing
for a 2009 Saab. 


The Fulfillment Fund is proud to honor Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann.  Judd's
been a leading force in the world of comedy since the 2005 release of the hit
film "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" and has been recognized for his work as a
producer and writer on many critically acclaimed television shows.  Leslie has
been making audiences laugh for years. Together they have demonstrated a
commitment to philanthropy through their support of organizations for the
homeless and 826 LA, a writing and tutoring center for disadvantaged youth.


The Gitnick Visionary Award, named for Fulfillment Fund founders Cherna and
Gary Gitnick, M.D., will pay tribute to Jana Waring Greer, President and CEO
of SunAmerica Retirement Markets and long-time supporter of the Fulfillment
Fund. Jana has demonstrated a strong commitment to the youth of our community
through her service as Past-President of the Board of the Fulfillment Fund.


Past STARS honorees have included Thomas Tull, Marc Shmuger, Tom Rothman,
Brian Grazer, Amy Pascal, Paula and Sumner Redstone, Megan and Peter Chernin,

The Fulfillment Fund was founded in 1977 and is dedicated to providing
economically disadvantaged students with the resources, tools and skills
needed to graduate from high school and obtain an advanced education.  The
Fulfillment Fund's programs provide total enrichment through mentoring,
classroom-based outreach, college counseling, college scholarships,
internships, career counseling and a parent education component.
