PerkinElmer Showcases Its Suite of Innovative Machine Vision and Illumination Products at Machine Vision China 2008

SHANGHAI, China--(Business Wire)--
PerkinElmer Optoelectronics, a global technology leader in digital
imaging, specialty lighting and optical detection technologies, today
announced that it is introducing its comprehensive suite of machine
vision products at the Machine Vision China 2008 tradeshow at the
Shanghai Exhibition Center, March 20-22, 2008 in booth #A131.

"This marks the first time PerkinElmer is exhibiting its machine
vision products in China," said Steve Barry, Director of Lighting
Sales, PerkinElmer Optoelectronics. "We are very pleased to present
PerkinElmer's broad machine vision and illumination product range in
China and spotlight our innovations in this important and growing
market."

PerkinElmer will exhibit its VIGI-Lux(R) family of direct
illumination systems, including the newest addition, the ViGI-Lux 5770
High Intensity IR Illuminator well suited for a range of demanding
applications including license plate recognition, infrared
surveillance, and industrial machine vision applications. The Vigi-Lux
5770 provides up to 50 Joules of flash for high intensity illumination
and is available in both narrow and wide beam configurations. The
Xenon flashlamp in the VIGI-Lux 5770 allows the system to cover the
full light spectrum from ultraviolet through the visible to the
infrared. A standard IR long-pass filter removes all wavelengths under
780 nm, making the strobe invisible to the naked eye.

In addition, PerkinElmer will highlight its SmartBlue(TM) family
of Digital Linescan Cameras. SmartBlue cameras offer internal 'smart'
pixel correction, have high speed data transmission rates ranging from
40 MHz to 80 MHz, depending upon the particular model, and have high
line rates ranging from 19 kHz up to 70 kHz, depending upon the model.
SmartBlue cameras are available in 512, 1024, 2048, & 4096 pixel
configurations. An industry-standard CameraLink(TM) digital
communication interface is standard for all SmartBlue models.

Other PerkinElmer technologies on display will include:

-- CX-Strobe(TM) Series -These fiber optic machine vision strobes
offer high intensity full spectrum light, long life, improved
stability, a universal AC input (100-240 VAC),and come in a
powder-coated aluminum enclosure. The CX-Strobe Series is
CE-certified and configured for various fiber optic light
guides, inputs for external trigger and intensity control, and
allows for easy and quick lamp replacement.

-- P-Series High Speed Linear Photodiode Array Imagers -
Available in standard array of 2048 and 4096 pixels, featuring
either glass or UV-enhanced fused silica glass. These
high-speed linear photodiode array imagers provide an extended
spectral range from UV-NIR, center-split, dual channel
readout, and ultra low image lag. The two-phase CCD readout
register requires only 5 Volt clocking.

-- PAX Family of Xenon light sources - Available in both 6-Watt
and 10-Watt models, these Precision-Aligned Xenon integrated
light sources suit a variety of clinical diagnostics, life
science, and analytical instrumentation applications. These
fully integrated lamp modules contain the Xenon flash lamp,
trigger circuit and power supply required to produce
microsecond pulses of broadband light with exceptional arc
        stability.
