SAN FRANCISCO--(Business Wire)--
Citi announced today that it will extend acceptance of registered warrants
issued by the state of California from its business and consumer deposit
customers through Friday, July 17, 2009.

"We are deeply disappointed about the budget situation in California, but we do
not want to penalize our business and consumer customers for the impasse in
Sacramento," said Rebecca Macieira-Kaufmann, President of Citibank California.
"We want our customers to know that we are here for them. During these difficult
times, it`s especially important that our small business customers continue to
have access to the resources they need to support their businesses - they are
the backbone of our economy and we do not want to let them down."

Added Macieira-Kaufmann: "We will continue to accept the state`s registered
warrants through July 17 to support our existing customers and to give our
legislators and governor more time to work the budget out. We hope that the
state will complete the budget soon."

Citibank will accept warrants from customers with established deposit accounts
as of June 30, 2009. Deposits need to be made at a California branch.
