Telecommunications services in the islands of Palau are provided
solely by Palau National Communications Corporation (PNCC). The
telecommunications infrastructure comprises digital switching and
fibre optic technologies. Palau offers a full range of telecom
services, including Internet access (PalauNet), cable television
(Island Cable Television) and cellular telephony (PNCC Wireless). PNCC
switch its analogue mobile network to a GSM 900 system in early 2004.
A second fledgling private communications enterprise Palau BB, had by
late 2006 completed the installation of the first of a series
satellite dishes to support its new wireless broadband network.
Up-to-date statistics are currently not available in this report. In
September 2006 a second mobile operator Palau Mobile Corporation (PNC)
commercially launched its service on a GSM 1800 network. Please also
