Five Star Quality Care, Inc. Third Quarter Conference Call Scheduled for Monday, November 2nd

Five Star Quality Care, Inc. (NYSE Amex: FVE) today announced that it will host
a conference call in conjunction with the announcement of its third quarter 2009
financial results.

Five Star plans to issue a press release containing its third quarter 2009
financial results after the NYSE Amex closes on Monday, November 2, 2009. Later
that evening, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Bruce Mackey, President and Chief
Executive Officer, and Fran Murphy, Chief Financial Officer, will host a
conference call to discuss the third quarter 2009 financial results. Following
the company`s remarks, there will be a short question and answer period.
