BOSTON--(Business Wire)--
Health magazine, one of the country's foremost publications on
improving health, has honored Uno Chicago Grill with the number-one
spot on its new list, "America's Healthiest Chain Restaurants." After
reviewing 43 restaurants with more than 75 locations nationwide, the
magazine's team of nutrition experts, dieticians, and food editors,
gave the top spot to Uno Chicago Grill. Editors cited the company's
lower-calorie flatbread pizzas, a menu with zero grams trans-fat -- as
well as a gluten free menu for those with Celiac disease -- a wide
selection of grilled entrees, multi-grain pastas, shade-grown coffees
and organic teas, among several other highlights in making their
determination.

"We're delighted that our commitment to nutritional transparency
has been acknowledged by Health magazine, which is the arbiter of
healthy living. Creating a menu with delicious health-conscious
options is one of our priorities at Uno Chicago Grill," says Frank W.
Guidara, the company's chief executive officer. "We never forget that
we are about flavor and choice, and that means constantly examining
new dishes that prove that eating healthfully doesn't have to mean
sacrificing."

In addition to healthful dining options, the restaurants offer
discounts on salads when ordered with entrees because, as the menus
state, "We want you to get some greens in your diet." Health called
that "a blue-ribbon commitment to health." The magazine's team of top
food experts also liked the Nutrition Information Centers in the
lobbies of most Uno Chicago Grill restaurants, which detail
ingredients, fat and sodium contents, and calories and fiber of every
item, in addition to gluten-free options.

Guidara notes, "While we cannot tell our customers what to eat, we
can give them all the information they need to make informed choices
and enjoy their experience with us."

The company that was the first to develop deep-dish pizza in 1943
is still full of innovation. Uno Chicago Grill works closely with its
Nutrition Advisory Board, which meets quarterly to discuss trends and
solutions to improve the quality and nutritional value of its menu.
The board includes world-class physicians with expertise in coronary
disease, weight management, and other food/health related issues. CEO
Frank Guidara oversees the Advisory Board and brings his expertise as
a member of the Nutrition Roundtable for the Harvard School of Public
Health.

In addition to eliminating artificial trans-fats and increasing
nutritional transparency, the company has also introduced gluten-free
options and, for guest convenience, clearly labels menu items with
ingredients that are linked to the most common food allergies, such as
fish/shellfish, soy, tree nuts/peanuts, egg, milk and wheat/gluten. In
addition to the nutrition information centers available in the
restaurants, diners can also preview the menu and nutritional
information online via the company's website at www.unos.com.

The company has invested more than $2 million in nutritional
advancements since 2005 and, according to Mr. Guidara, will continue
its commitment to providing delicious, fresh and healthful menu
options for its guests.
