IIJ Adds DRM Function to the Flash Video Distribution Solution

NEW YORK, April 13, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Internet Initiative Japan Inc.
(IIJ) (Nasdaq:IIJI) (TSE1:3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and
comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced the immediate release
of a DRM(*) function for the Flash Video Distribution Solution. This addition
addresses the problem of unauthorized copies and other risks related to
distribution of Adobe (R) Flash (R) Video, providing both copyright protection
and high quality video distribution.

Adobe Flash Video is a convenient video format that can be viewed on the Windows
and Mac OS as well as other platforms, and the Flash Video Distribution Solution
is a service for high-volume video distribution providers. The Flash Video
Distribution Solution provides a large distribution platform that creates a
stable, high-quality environment for distributing streaming content as well as
live broadcasts of various events, and that obviates the need for installing
equipment at the customer's premises.

IIJ is contributing to the growth of the Internet-based video distribution
market through the Flash Video Distribution Solution and by providing a
high-quality content distribution platform for acTVila, a television portal site
for digital television.

Adobe Flash Video

Adobe Flash Video is a video format developed by Adobe Systems Inc. that gained
notoriety via the YouTube service in the United States. This video format can be
viewed on the Adobe Flash Player, which is installed on 700 million computers
and mobile devices worldwide. The release of the Adobe Flash Media Rights
Management Server on April 14, 2008, provides DRM functions.

   of views, the viewing period, and computer used to view digital 
   content, and thus prevents the unauthorized use of this content.
