SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
This week on the California Lottery's Big Spin show, two
contestants won a total of $75,000. The show aired statewide Saturday,
April 19, 2008. The grand total won this week was $97,500!

Teresita Huezo, an insurance assistant from Fairfield, was hoping
she could be very generous after she spun the Big Spin prize wheel.
Huezo explained, "Any money would be a blessing. If I win a little,
I'll pay a little bit of our bills, but if I win a lot, I'll pay
everybody's bills!" Huezo went straight to the wheel after she
uncovered three "Spin" symbols on her Big Spin Scratchers ticket. She
won $50,000 and as planned, wants to pay off some debt with her prize.

Daniel Martinez, a building maintenance worker, was the contestant
who outplayed nine other contestants in Aces High this week. The
resident of San Bernardino won $25,000, and wants to put a down
payment on a house with his new found wealth.

More than 95 cents of every Lottery dollar is returned to the
community in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retail
commissions. The California Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of
every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public
education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the
form of prizes. Since its inception in 1985, the Lottery has
contributed more than $20 billion to California schools out of total
sales of nearly $55 billion. Retailers benefit too, earning $3.5
billion in compensation since 1985.
